There’s no avoiding the excitement and anticipation of the Queen’s Diamond Jubliee celebrations next month. We see lots of you have already been talking about your plans and trying out recipes, so we thought we’d get in the spirit with a fun Jubilee Bake Off. We would like you to get your thinking caps on and create a baked treat fit for a queen. Whether it’s royal cupcakes, a jubilee themed tart, a tea party classic or a pretty celebration cake, we want to see them all. Or how about you just send them on over for us to test thoroughly? (Can’t blame me for trying!)
We are delighted that Dr. Oetker are sponsoring our Jubilee Bake Off and are supplying a wonderful hamper of cake decorating goodies for the lucky winner. They have been busy themselves working on some Jubilee themed goodies and, along with food artist extraodinare, Prudence Staite, have created the amazing ‘Cupcake Queen’ portrait. Measuring 6m² and using 2,012 hand-decorated cupcakes, it is quite something to behold. She also used ten cans of Gold and Silver Shimmer Spray, 60,000 Silver and Gold Soft Sugar Pearls and over 140 white Wafer Daisies! Check out this video showing how it was skilfully put together. Amazing!
Many of the products used in the video are in the fantastic hamper offered by Dr. Oetker so maybe you can produce your own piece of cupcake artwork! We will be seriously impressed if you do!
If you fancy showing off your baking skills and entering the competition then all you need to do is blog your beautiful creation and add your link below. The competition is open to UK bloggers and entries need to be in by 5pm on Monday 28th May. The winner will be chosen and notified within 2 days.
Good luck and happy baking!

ooohhh my plan for next weekend was for jubilee baking, will need to link up. can I link more than once if doing more posts?
Good question! I don’t see why we can’t have multiple entries 🙂
thank you, first one up
I feel very silly. I’ve put this on the wrong comp. Pls could you delete my entry? It’s more ‘Turkeee’ than ‘Jubileee’. Oops. *blushes* Thanks Kay. :O)
Done 🙂
Thanks :O)
What a shame this competition closes before the actual Jubilee! I’m planning to bake something but only for the day itself so it will be too late for me to enter 🙁
this is probably to encourage people to try things out and share recipes to enable others to pinch ideas
who won?
Thank you for all the wonderful entries. The winner of the Jubilee Bake Off was Laura from Laura Loves Cakes. Congratulations! Her goodies should be with her very shortly.
