In The Kitchen With…A Strong Coffee

Inside food bloggers' kitchens....

We ‘re going through the keyhole to have a personal tour around A Strong Coffee’s kitchen this month. Written by mum of three Louise, A Strong Coffee is a food blog full of simple but tasty recipes the whole family will love.

Over to Louise…

People who know me, will know that I am a night owl rather than a morning person. I start each day with a strong coffee. Originally a parenting blog, I have introduced more and more recipes over the five years that I have been blogging. Recipes are usually family focused as I don’t like cooking twice. There is also a large helping of cake.

We have recently moved house and the kitchen was one of the deciding factors for me. Although I would rather have a lighter kitchen that was easier to film and photograph in, the space I now have is fantastic. I love having an island in the middle of my kitchen.. The boys sit up on their stools when they finish school and eat their snacks. It is also great for sitting at to decorate cakes.

Whilst I love my coffee, people are often upset when I ask for tea! Honestly, if I have a coffee after lunch, I risk never sleeping. People are also shocked that I don’t have some kind of singing and dancing coffee machine. I won’t lie I have been tempted on many occasions, but a cafetiere does the job and more importantly is easy to clean. This really is my must have kitchen item.

Before I had my three boys you would find me in a Science lab rather than a kitchen. As head of Chemistry at a secondary school, I loved doing experiments. Especially ones that involved fire.  Science also has a presence in my kitchen. I love my Pyrex measuring beaker and it makes measuring things more fun.. My blow torch is fantastic for creme brulee and was often taken into school for explosive experiments! My sixth former’s knew I was a fan of Heston Blumenthal as I like his scientific approach to cooking. They bought me the book as a leaving present and I always think of them when I browse the recipes.

Whilst some women are known for their love of shoes, for me it is baking supplies. I love finding new cupcake case designs and could spend a fortune on cake decorating equipment given half the chance.

I am Pinterest crazy, and the kitchen cupboards are filled with food photography props. I love my mini milk bottles even if they aren’t that practical to fill. In a few years time, we hope to take the boys on a trip to Orlando. I honestly can’t tell you if visiting The Wizarding World of Harry Potter or going to Walmart to buy American candy and sprinkles for the blog excites me more.

So You Know...

As you've likely heard and seen, there's an increasing focus on the authenticity of follower growth and engagement on social platforms across the Influencer Marketing community. The platforms themselves have taken measures to deter inauthentic activity and brands now more closely scrutinise the audiences of the influencers with whom they are partnering.

The Flea Network has implemented a system that will detect abnormal spikes in following and engagement, and flag these properties. Of course, such spikes can often be attributed to viral posts or high-profile brands that bring greater exposure to some content.

If one of your social accounts is flagged by our system without an obvious reason, we may reach out to you for assistance in understanding it. If we find any influencer has artificially inflated their audience size or engagement using paid acquisition or automated, third-party tools, we will remove them permanently from our influencer community.

Feel free to reach out to us at with any questions or comments.

Thank you!
