National Fish and Chip Day
I bet you didn’t know that June the 7th is National Fish and Chip Day? Well, it is, and if you are anything like me, you’ll be heading down to your local chippie for a takeaway of their finest cod and chips. If you are planning a bit further ahead, you might like to make your own fish and chip supper. So I’ve pulled together a plethora of great fish and chip recipes for you to enjoy.
There’s even something for those who are following diet restrictions, so no one need miss out on National Fish and Chip Day. Enjoy those chippies!
We start our fish and chip journey with Kitchen Sanctuary’s Nicola’s Baked Fish and Chips with Lemon Smashed Peas. Sounds like a posher version of the takeaway classic.
If you are following a vegetarian diet, fear not. You don’t have to miss out with Caroline from All That I’m Eating’s version made with halloumi. Take a look at her Vegetarian Fish and Chips.
And Jacqueline from Tinned Tomatoes has a dish perfectly suited to vegans too. This is her take on the popular teatime treat – Chip Shop Battered Tofu.
